We know the question is arising – will the library have a Summer Reading Club this year. The answer, I am glad to report, is YES!

With some creative rethinking and the help of the Beanstack app, Summer Reading Club will begin as scheduled on Tuesday, June 2.

The members of our Teen Advisory Board have created a short video explaining the program. Here is the link, which you can show to or share out with students:

And here is an explanation, with lots of helpful links:

The Salem Public Library 2020 Summer Reading Club is an online experience hosted by Beanstack where children, teens, and adults can sign up, track time reading and listening to stories, and earn badges by completing activity and reading prompts.

Pre-registration is open now: https://cityofsalem.beanstack.org/reader365

Salem Public Library has also planned for virtual and no-contact events and activities throughout the summer for children, teens, and adults. Watch our website and Facebook for details!

Paper trackers are available to download and print at home through the Salem Public Library Summer Reading Club page.

We also want to remind you that while our physical libraries are currently closed, we are continuing to work for you. You can access many fantastic services, resources, ebook, and audiobooks through our Virtual Library, available 24/7 online.
